What does it mean to create a well-balanced, filling snack?

Creating a balanced, filling snack involves pairing all three of the macronutrients: proteins, fats, and carbohydrates. I love combining protein-rich foods like Greek yogurt or cheese with complex carbohydrates, such as whole grain crackers or fruit, for sustained energy. Adding healthy fats from sources like nuts or avocado keeps me feeling full and satisfied for longer. One of my favorite snacks is an apple with a ¼ cup of almonds, which offers a wonderful mix of fiber, healthy fats, and protein. Another great option is hummus paired with carrot sticks, providing a good balance of protein, healthy fats, and fiber-rich carbohydrates. However, since sweets are often enjoyed, here are some "lesser evil" options with minimal sugar, fewer preservatives, and fewer artificial sweeteners. Following the 80/20 rule, where 80% of your intake is nutrient-dense foods and 20% includes "fun" foods, allows you to enjoy occasional treats while maintaining overall health.
